Working with Mr. Raghu Bhardawaj is an experience which will leave you yearning for more and more to learn. He has set bench marks in delivering trainings and I hope to have more of such wonderful sessions with him. His training is skillfully organized and provide in depth analysis in the subject, which gives the participant not just a fantastic learning experience but also encourages to enhance self learning skill with hands on examples. No wonder that is the reason why his trainings are the best in the arena of Embedded software. I wish Mr. Raghu Bharadwaj many more successful milestones in his career.

I’ve got trained in Linux kernel/device driver development in 2004 from Bharadwaj and he helped me to become expert in power management for platforms like phones/tablets/2-1′s. His expertise/training helped to bridge the gap b/w HW/SW. So I get to be the one in that specialization at my current job.

As a student I did not understand and appreciate Raghu sir’s style of teaching as he focused more on concepts, design and practicality aspects of every topic. I was more worried about the program and the logic involved in writing the code than these broader aspects. But now as I’m working as a kernel engineer I realize and fully understand the importance of the training and how farsighted the program was in building my career

I consider this course “Linux Driver & Embedded Developer” as a boon for both Freshers & Experienced who want to build their career in Linux Device-drivers or Kernel-programming. The entire course is designed in a very conceptual-way that even if you are a beginner, it won’t take much time to build the fundamentals. The course is more of a practical than just theoretical and has provided me a wide-exposure and clarity on various concepts than I have ever got through any book or course. Talking about Raghu sir, he is one of the finest teacher and mentor I’ve ever met in my life. He taught each and every topic in such a depth and with real-time examples that I was surprised many a times that my doubts were solved even before asking. His way of presenting the concepts and relating the topics is really impressive and unique. It was a life-time opportunity for me to attend this course from a brilliant and insightful teacher like Raghu sir. Thus, I highly recommend this course to every Linux-enthusiast who wants to understand Linux from depth and have a passion to work in this field

The course (linux system and kernel programming) is more practical than other course I have attended. I really liked the skills of Raghu Sir in presenting and explaining difficult issues throughout the course. The course provided a wide exposure various methods available for performing a task, with the discussions on advantages and disadvantages in each method in depth. The course helped me a lot to get through Xilinx interview as the course topics discussed covered important parts of my work experience, which made me to understand these topics with very good clarity theoretically and practically in all possible ways from basics. I highly recommend the course to fresher or experienced person to have in-depth insight on linux system and kernel programming.

“Raghu is one of the best minds when it comes to corporate training. His ability to go deep and wide to the queries/doubts with lucid answers is a boon to his clients/students

He is also not tied to any specific topic like other consultants do, just throw a question at him , and rest assured you will get the right direction to go forward

I rate Raghu as one of the perfect consultant/trainer on Linux Kernel and Embedded”

“I saw in Raghu 3 great qualities any teacher should have i.e Love for the profession, in-depth subject knowledge and tremendous patience to answer all the questions posed.

His courses are worth every penny that you spend and he also makes it simple. Its amazing how he has put in so much of time and effort to create so many working code examples and presentation slides to explain LINUX OS concepts. He truly fits the bill of a ‘TECH GURU’ !

I would highly recommend his courses for anyone who want to get a grip on OS internals.

Before giving a feedback I want to give my background. I have worked with Samsung India for 4 years on Mobile Platforms and Drivers. Learning Linux was always was always my passion since IIT-BHU days and had studied Linux literature like LDD3 and Robert Love in college only.

I joined this course for sake for gaining extra knowledge and came with a pre-assumption that Faculty would try to teach me stuff I know already and that my time would be wasted. But to my surprise Mr. Raghu though his brilliant course content and eloquent and simple way of delivering complex material have surprised me and gained my full respect.

Feedback On Part 1 (Linux Programming Essentials)

By looking at the brochure I felt that most of the stuff I already knew like Process Management, POSIX, Netwroking, libraires, object files stack etc. since I was working on these areas for 4 years. But it was very wrong of me to assume that we already know what Mr. Raghu is going to teach and that it will not be beneficiary or will waste time. Believe me – if you want to learn Linux come here with an empty cup – adapt to Mr. Raghu’s teaching style then only move on to drivers. (Not attending Part 1 is a very foolish attempt). If somebody wants to learn drivers he/she needs to go through Part 1 for following reasons:

a) Experienced students – We mostly know theoretical stuff in comparison to what is taught in class on Linux. You will get to see practically the things we know exist in OSes with an elaborate real example with a brilliant background on each topic. It will strengthen your understanding of even the basics of topics. Trust Mr. Raghu on that. If you have passion for Linux, you cannot find a more insightful and interesting teacher. You will gain so many tips and tricks on Linux that you will surprise many.

b) Freshers – You will learn more in 3 months than you will learn 3 years in industry.

Feedback on Part 2 (Linux Kernel and Device Drivers)

Even after studying LDD3 many times I had hundreds of questions in my mind. Mostly like why a particular procedure to write char drivers or what is platform driver, block driver. Mr. Raghu explained the basics to advanced architecture of each driver in such a way that I don’t have to think twice what way I need to implement a particular driver. After this course, when I go through many real drivers I understand them better now. I congratulate and thank Mr. Raghu on running such a beautiful course for us Linux enthusiasts

Proud to be your student

With poor scores in my engineering I was labeled hopeless by many around me, even I started believing that I cannot make it in the field of software development. But all things changed when out of pure curiosity and ambition to make it big I enrolled for a Linux System Programming course way back in 2001. It was conducted by Raghu Bharadwaj. I also partially enrolled for this course as at that time no one around me knew what system programming was and this gave me a chance to take a dig at them.

But as the course went on more than I learning newer OS concepts what made me sit up and take notice was the kind of clarity that went in to me on the whole concept of system software development. If you today ask me what I gained out of that course, I would say it is pure clarity on software, its evolution and the way we as developers need to look at it and work with it.

The next six months after the course I worked as a software developer for a small company which gave me the necessary confidence and experience.

All this happened in 2001 and today after having worked for 3 multinational companies I’m proud to say that I have settled in the US and am well respected as a Linux Kernel and System Software consultant.

I still believe that the clarity of thought that I got from Mr. Raghu Bharadwaj is still the source of my intelligence when dealing with software development.

Thanks team Veda for all the support,

After my academics obviously like everyone I was looking for a decent software development job. However I preferred getting into Linux System Programming as Linux and the open source culture somehow fascinated me.

As my academic degree did not much deal with Linux and system programming I was seriously looking for a training organization that genuinely taught Linux and core Kernel concepts. And when I started searching Veda Solutions was obviously the first institute to surface, also couple of my seniors and my cousins who were working suggested me to get enrolled at Veda Solutions.

After enrolling for the course, for the first few weeks I was very excited as getting a job was really important but as the course progressed the importance shifted from merely getting a job to excitement about the kind of stuff that I was learning and the confidence that blossomed in me. Throughout the entire course the excitement was kept intact by the trainers. Honestly those were the best learning days for me ever. Of course after the course I landed up in a very good company, but more than that what I learnt still helps me even today in these technically challenging times.

Thanks team Veda for all the support,

Veda is the place of learning the process of learning and you will get the most out of it if you genuinely believe in their process – “Unlearning and Relearning”. And I have no hesitation to say even after a decade that I still get benefited greatly from Raghu Sir’s mentorship and from the process he recommends, as I still practice the process of learning.

Something I never expected I will do

I was in my last semester when I decided to enroll for a course on Linux system programming at Veda Solutions. The entire course was really well conducted, but above all what literally changed everything for me was the one lecture that the trainer gave towards the end of the course on open source programming culture and as true engineers how we can use the platform.

That particular day had a big impact on my life as I seriously took his words to heart, on that day the trainer Mr. Raghu Bharadwaj spoke extensively on open source contributions, where as software developers we can be part of an existing project or even put up our own developed software under GPL so that others can make use of it or contribute back, enhancing the product etc.

I decided to follow his advice and started contributing to open source projects and even I uploaded my final semester project under GPL for others to use, contribute back and share. And at last the moment of glory came when others started downloading my software and started using it for their requirements, and this is when I truly I felt that what I just did was something that an engineer should truly do, develop solutions that other can use. All these was truly unbelievable for a final year student like me, the kind of satisfaction and pride I had was absolutely mind blowing and still gives me goose bumps even now. And thanks to that, I received 3 job offers when I mentioned all this in my resume, even before I completed my engineering

Thanks to team Veda for making all that happen,

Munish Nayyar
